Break Free from Procrastination: Proven Steps to Boost Your Productivity and Get Things Done

One of the most common questions I get asked is:

“How do I overcome procrastination and get stuff done?”

Firstly, make sure whatever it is you are procrastinating over actually needs doing. Why does it need doing and what value will add to your business?

If it’s passed this check and still needs doing then estimate how long it will take. Less than an hour? Get it done in the next 48 hours. More than an hour? Chunk it down into small blocks of time and get started within 48 hours.

At the time you’ve allocated to get it done, do not over-think this…

 

GET IT DONE!

  • Turn off distractions, especially your phone, email and social media.
  • Set a timer for the allocated time.
  • Start doing it and continue until the timer goes off.

Getting started is often the hardest step.

Remember, a bad first draft is better than a blank page.
