24 May Overwhelmed and overworked? Here’s 3 choices to overcome it…
The truth is that working for yourself and running a business is hard work.
You start out with lots of energy and time to dedicate to building it but then, without even realising it, you’re putting in more hours than you ever did in a ‘job’ and are so busy you can’t see the wood for the trees.
The biggest problem is that you can’t figure out how to get out of this situation and, if you’re not careful, you end up making knee-jerk decisions that can make your situation even worse.
There are only 3 choices available to you:
- Do nothing – this is the strategy of hoping and praying that some miracle will occur to resolve your pain. Spoiler alert – this never happens, so you stay where you are, get burnout and give up your business.
- Reduce your workload – there are numerous ways to do this and make a huge difference, You get more efficient and effective, needing less time to produce the same output or, you say no to the extra workload and increase your pricing, therefore producing less output but for the same value.
- Get help – you can buy someone else’s time by either employing or outsourcing. This can be seen as a quick fix but it is also where it can be hugely wrong if you rush into it. You need to have a clear understanding of the best options for you and your business and a plan to go about it.
Options 2 and 3 are where I help my clients, and it’s often a combination of the two.
If you’re curious to see how I can help you then you can book in a no-obligation strategy call with me here.
In this call I’ll help you to identify some quick wins and, if you want to know options for working with me, we can discuss these too.
