04 Nov Doubt requires action
It’s normal to feel doubt when running a business.
After all, there’s an element of risk involved.
But, doubt can quickly lead to procrastination and avoidance of doing the things you need to do.
- Maybe you have doubts over having sales conversations.
- Maybe you have doubts over whether you can deliver your service.
- Maybe you have doubts over your pricing.
- Maybe you have doubts about someone in your team.
The thing is with doubts though, they are not actually real.
Doubts are simply thoughts that you’ve made up in your head about something.
In themselves, doubts are not helpful. They may be giving you a warning about something or, they may be trying to protect you from being hurt, but you can only move past a doubt by taking action.
“Doubt can only be removed by action” Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
For example:
- Have the sales conversation and learn from it
- Deliver the service and get customer feedback
- Assess your pricing (and increase it!)
- Define what is causing you doubt about the team member – what are they doing or not doing? Then, address it.
Identify the doubts you have, then determine the action you can take for each one.
Don’t waste precious time doubting, when you could be taking action to remove it.
