15 Jun Who are your five – who support, influence and guide you in your business?
How has the past year or so changed your business?
In my last blog post, I wrote about how we can’t blame Covid for everything, however, it’s definitely changed the business landscape and, I keep going on (some may say like a broken record!) about how you need to adapt and make changes in your business to keep it relevant.
One of the challenges lots, if not all, of you have faced is a significantly reduced network. Those people who you spend lots of time with, who can either feed or drain your energy. Can inspire you or depress you. Who lift you up or bring you down.
One of my favourite Jim Rohn quotes is:
“You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with”
I was lucky enough this weekend to spend time with some longtime friends I went to school with, and I came back feeling totally refreshed and uplifted.
Being with people who support you, challenge you, offer different viewpoints, have your back, and totally ‘get’ you – you can’t beat it!
Do you know who your five people are who support, influence and guide you in your business?
Take a couple of minutes to reflect on this. Do you have any gaps? Do you have people who no longer serve you?
Do not underestimate the power of the people around you to influence how you feel, what you think, and what you do.
If there are people in your circle who don’t fit anymore, or perhaps you’ve outgrown, it takes courage to move on.
But, having the courage to do this is a key step in taking your business forward to where you want it to be.
I’m not sure who came up with the quote, “What got you here, won’t get you there”, but this is another truth that could be holding you back.
In other words, if you’re struggling to move forward, it’s probably because you need to do something different to what you’ve done before.
The key is to identify the ‘different’ – that’s where your five people can help you.
If you want some help identifying your ‘different’, you can book in a strategy call with me and maybe I could even be one of your five people!
